Oath taking ceremony to serve old people.

The annual grand function of oath taking ceremony on the 29th Nov 2009 of Guru Vishram Viridh Ashram of SHEOWS as 6th anniversary was observed with full zeal & fervor by about 500 people coming from Delhi and few ones from gurgoan, noida and faridabad etc. In order to give more importance and weightage to this occasion known as SANKALP DIWAS was celebrated with following oaths:

“I considering Gods as the witness take the oath of serving my aged parents as well as helpless, shelter less, elders throughout my whole life.”

After taking the pledge the founder of Ashram Dr. G.P. Bhagat declared that this important day of 29th Nov must be celebrated annually as the PARENTS PUJA DIWAS by all of us with the pledge that we would observe this day through out our lives with full solemnity.

To acquaint the masses with activities and programme of the ashram, it is sufficient to say that the ashram first started with mere strength of 20-23 persons and presently went up to 75 at Gautampuri, near Badarpur, New Delhi 110044 with the sole motto of serving humanity at large particularly – old, destitute, helpless, hapless, shelter less, sick, bedridden, paralytic, burnt, disabled, fractured, gangrene and suffering from Dementia and Alzheimer – all with free of cost. They are being provided all basic facilities of food, medicine, care, affection & love.

The ashram is presently accommodating nearly 75 elderly people who are physically and mentally challenged, sick and Dementia and Alzheimer patients. More than 200 elderly people came to this place out of which 60 have been cremated. They all were lifted from road side, university campuses, temples, mosques, government hospitals and public places where they were thrown out in chilly cold weather and lying uncared writhing in agony and pains and various other ailments. The ashram is being run and managed through the help of donors, corporate and a number of affluent persons.

The immediate need of ours is of at least 5 acres of land/ suitable building where we can accommodate 500 to 1000 such people and serve them with devotion and dedication. We have a further progressive and forward plan of establishing a full-fledged unit of research and development with the hospital for remedying all their ailments and suffering.

Full credit and applause goes to the founder Dr. G.P.Bhagat who has braved all trials and tribulations with the determined mind and soul coupled with unshakable faith in God. We wish him all success in this enlightened endeavour and vision.
